Maxime Lopez

Maxime Lopez was born to a Spanish father and an Algérian mother, on December 4, 1997 in Marseille. He is a French footballer who plays as a midfielder at Olympique de Marseille. He is the Younger brother of Julien Lopez, player of Paris FC in league 2. Maxime Lopez joined the training center of Olympique de Marseille in 2010 at the age of 13 from Burel FC2. He signed his first professional contract there on July 12, 2014, for a period of three seasons.
He was called up for the first time in the professional group during a Europa League match in November 2015 against SC Braga but did not appear on the match sheet. For his second season as a professional, he only takes part in two friendly matches.
He played his first official match with the professionals on August 21, 2016, replacing Bouna Sarr in a two-to-one defeat against EA Guingamp and offering a decisive pass for Florian Thauvin. He concluded this first full season with 30 appearances in Ligue 1 to his credit, including 26 tenures, for 6 assists and 3 goals.
He is THE revelation of OM for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Despite a complicated 2017-2018 season with less tenure, he is part of the team that manages to bring OM back to the European scene. He returns to the front of the stage in mid-season, chaining good performances, especially in the Europa League. He will be a finalist in the UEFA Europa League in 2018 with OM. Often announced as the new Samir Nasri because of his Algerian origins and his technical playing style with a very good sense of movement, Maxime Lopez is one of the strong faces of Olympique de Marseille, who often directs the games he plays towards victory.
