Pro snowboarder & musician

Pat Burgener is a professional snowboarder and musician from Switzerland.

Gifted with an extraordinary talent on snow since his childhood, he joined the Swiss national team at the age of 14. His ambition had opened the doors to the top flight and catapulted him into the top 3 on many occasions.

However, fate spares no man, and like many top-level athletes Pat got injured. After a snowboarding injury in 2014, Pat used the time off the snow to work on his second passion, music. He teamed up with his brother Max and a childhood friend to create his own band.

Meeting a great success with his first singles, Pat played at world-class venues like the Montreux Jazz Festival, Sion Sous les Etoiles or the Gürten Festival.

His come back on snow has been full of high notes including two podiums at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019 and an amazing 5th place at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. ‘Music has been helping me to find my inner balance, which is the key when it comes to become a better version of yourself in any fields’ Pat says.

In March 2018, he released his first EP called ‘The Route’ on Universal Music, which has been collecting over one million streams on Spotify since then.

This Summer, Pat came back with his second opus – Icar – in reference to Icarus in the Greek mythology. ‘I strongly believe that all of us should fly as high as we can and achieve our dreams. Even though it requires to take risks.’ he states explaining the reason behind the name. The EP was recorded last year in San Diego with Emmy’s nominated producer, Jasper Leak, bringing a sunny surf vibe to the record.

On the snowboarding side, Pat stays focused on his dream to hopefully climb on the podium of the 2022 Winter Olympics in China.

Protect, educate and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play.

It all began with a boy in a long sleeve t-shirt…

It was only a few months before the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics, when Norwegian speed skater Johann Olav Koss led a humanitarian trip to the newly formed African country of Eritrea. There, he came face-to-face with the realities of life in a country emerging from decades of war.

As children played amidst burned out tanks, surrounded by the images of war martyrs, one boy stood out and crystallized an idea for Johann that would write the future of Right To Play
